Appears in 1841 inventory (first appearance?) as being in Chronometer Room, seemingly the first to be taken since 1831 where it was not recorded (at least not in any recognisable form). Recorded as 'A clock with mercurial pendulum, by Dent; adjusted to Mean solar Time' (RGO6/54/88).
First mentioned in 1848 volume of Greenwich Observations, when recorded as being in Chronometer Room listed as 'marked Dent'
Howse gives the date of its arrival as 'about 1829' but does not give a reference
