The estimated date of 1895 comes from the fact that the Altazimuth Pavilion was under construction. It can just be seen to the left of the right hand dome surrounded by scaffolding. In 1899, the image was registered to York & Son at Stationers' Hall for copyright purposes (National Archives, COPY 1/442/623)
