This particular card has a different design of back to all the other G.P & O.S. cards displayed on the website. In the winter of 1908–9, there were 54 days on which the temperature fell below freezing, the lowest air temperature recorded being 12.1º Fahrenheit (-11º Celsius). In the following winter, there were 50 days on which the temperature fell below freezing, the lowest air temperature of 20.3º Fahrenheit (-6.5º Celsius) being recorded on 27 January.
