Unlike other publishers, Phillips does not seem to have made copies of his photographic plates. As a result, later printings of his postcards tend to be of an increasingly inferior quality as can be seen from the different examples of this card. This particular card had previously been published by McQueen and his name can be seen partially erased in the bottom right-hand corner. The relationship between McQueen and Phillips is not known. One of the examples of this card is stamped The Vaudeville Studios on the reverse. The nature of the relationship (if any) between the studios and Phillips is also unknown.
