On 1 April 1965, the new Science Research Council (SRC) was incorporated under Royal Charter and took control of the Observatory apart from the Chronometer Department which was put under the direct control of the Hydrographic Department of the Ministry of Defence.
Each year, the Council produced a report as it was required to do under the Science and Technology Act, 1965, Schedule 1
As well as giving an overview of the finances, the reports also contained, at the start, a list of those who sat on its Council, and at the end, in an appendix, those who sat on its Boards, as well as its numerous Committees and working parties.
The links below are to copies of the report that are available from the HathiTrust. Although the reports were published as standalone documents, these version were published in a volume along with reports from other bodies. When doing a word search, if should be noted that the 1965–66 and 1966–67 reports are contained in the same volume as are those for the years 1969–70 and 1970–71.
